How it works

From artwork to lit match, without the guesswork

Ordering custom matchboxes is simpler than most people expect — even if you've never sent anything to print before. Whether you're creating personalised matchbooks for a wedding, branded matchboxes for a restaurant or bar, or custom printed matchboxes for an event, the process below is the same: choose a format, send us your artwork, approve your proof, and we make it. Delivered across Australia.

STEP 01

Choose your format

Three formats, each made to order and printed with your artwork. Minimum order is 50 units on every product, with per-unit pricing improving at higher quantities.

Classic Matchbox

The signature pocket-sized box (58 × 36 × 9 mm). Our most popular format for weddings, restaurants and events.

STEP 02

Submit your artwork

After checkout, you'll receive a link to our design submission form. You don't need print-ready files or a designer — most of our customers have never sent artwork to print before.

The easiest starting point is one of our free Canva templates, already sized with correct bleed and safe zones (or browse all templates in one place):

Working in Canva? Share your design as an editable link — set sharing to "Anyone with the link can edit" so we can prepare your files for print. Double-check the permission before sending; links are often accidentally shared as view-only. We also accept file uploads through the form, email attachments, and Google Drive or Dropbox links.

What we check before anything prints: resolution (logos need to be sharp at print size), bleed, colours, fine lines, and any text or borders sitting too close to folds. If something in your file won't print well, we'll tell you before production — not after.

STEP 03

Approve your proof

Every order includes a digital proof showing exactly how your matchboxes will print — front, rear and side panels. One round of amendments is included as standard, so if something needs adjusting, we fix it and send a revised proof.

Nothing is made until you've approved your proof. Once you sign off, production begins — so it's worth a careful final check of text, spelling and layout before you approve.

STEP 04

Production & delivery

Standard production takes around 45 days from artwork approval. Every order is printed, cut, assembled and quality-checked to your design — that's the time it takes to do it properly.

On a tighter timeline? Rush production is available on Australian orders for the Classic and Long Stem matchboxes, with turnaround as fast as 7 days from approval. Vintage Matchbooks are excluded from rush. Availability is limited — get in touch with your date before ordering.

Orders are delivered across Australia. Outside Australia? We hold the licences required to ship matches internationally — contact us before ordering and we'll confirm delivery to your country.

Common questions about ordering

What file formats do you accept?+

A Canva edit link is the easiest route. We also accept PDF, PNG, JPG and AI files via our submission form, email, or a Drive/Dropbox link. If you're unsure whether your file will work, send it anyway — we review everything before print and will flag any issues.

Can I place my order before my artwork is ready?+

Yes — and if you're on a timeline, you should. Your place in the queue is set by your order, and production starts once your artwork is approved. Just remember the 45-day clock starts at approval, not at checkout.

What happens if there's a problem with my artwork?+

We'll contact you before anything prints. Common issues are low-resolution logos, missing bleed, and text sitting too close to folds — all fixable, and we'll tell you exactly what's needed. Starting from one of our free Canva templates avoids most of these entirely.

Do you check my design before printing?+

Every file, every order. We review your artwork for print issues, prepare it for production, and send you a digital proof for approval. Nothing is made until you've signed off.
